What criteria should you take into account when designing your pallet?
When designing a custom-made handling pallet, it's important to take several factors into account. First of all, the handling environment is a key element. Will the pallet be used for indoor or outdoor storage? The type of storage must also be specified, e.g. pallet racking or shelving. The storage location is also important, as pallets used in a warehouse are not the same as those used in a factory or workshop.
Define precisely the parts and goods to be transported. It's important to detail the type of parts, their dimensions, weight, material, packaging, load capacity and loading method (homogeneous or non-homogeneous).
Logistical flow and handling must also be taken into account when designing a customized handling pallet: quantity of parts, loading height, loading mode (manual, robotic), stackability, mode of transport or handling means (pallet truck, forklift, stacker, etc.).
