Plastic bins: how to choose?
Bin attributes
- Material: recycled material is a real bargain when it comes to price, but virgin material is suitable for food contact. To store electronic components, use ESD bins.
- Weight: weight is a key quality indicator for plastic bins. In fact, bins with a lower weight are in a lower range (thinner walls, fewer ribs, etc.)
- Ribs & double walls: these are the elements that ensure the bin's rigidity and protect it from impact. Rounded corners reduce the risk of jamming on conveyors during handling operations.
- Accessories: depending onyour needs, you should consider whether your professional bins can be fitted with dividers, folding visors, lids, label holders or safety clips.

- Dimensions: first of all, you need to determine the type of product you want to store and the storage location. You can then choose a format adapted to your products and the chosen location.
- Load: depending on the load, it's advisable to choose a plastic bin with open handles for better handling when the load exceeds 15 kg.
- Temperature: will the bin be used in cold storage? In a warehouse? In a washing tunnel? In a hot environment? You need to consider the specifics of your activity before making your choice.
- Handling: static storage? On conveyor? Internal/external flow? Depending on your type of handling and use, choose the right bin for your needs.
Which bin to store small parts without having to transport them?

Which bin to transport?
European standard bins
To optimize logistics flows and the transport of your products, choose European standard bins. A European standard bin is a palletizable bin compatible with the European pallet format (1200mm x 800mm). There are 4 sizes of European standard bins, which can be combined to optimize pallet changeover.
European standard bins are stackable and highly impact-resistant. With their smooth bottoms, they are ideal for use on conveyors, roller conveyors and aisles. Their load capacity is very high. Front-opening stacking bins enable picking directly into the bin.
Which bin to supply?
Specific bins for the supply chain
Stack & nest bins: also known as shuttle bins, they are designed to facilitate and secure logistics flows. They stack when full. When returned empty, they nest to save space. Adapted to European pallet formats, they are compatible with each other.
Foldable bins: foldable and collapsible, they optimize logistics flows and empty returns. They are useful for order preparation and intermediate storage.
With nestable and foldable bins, you can save on returns.
Shuttle bins can also be fitted with safety clips.
How to customize your plastic bin?
Size and color
Ergonomic tip: On the workstation or storage shelves, varying the colors and sizes of bins helps to better identify the products to be picked.
Labeling
Some bins are equipped with label holders, so remember to buy the corresponding label to better identify the contents of these bins.
Marking
Hot stamping
Marking carried out using a punch with lettering mounted on a high-temperature die. A colored plasticized film transfers the lettering to the surface of the tray.
Silk-screen printing
