Chemical and hazardous product storage guides
To protect the environment, all establishments using hazardous liquids are required to comply with a number of rules concerning the identification, handling and storage of these products.

Key regulations on chemical storage and handling in the workplace
Safety in the workplace is a top priority, especially when it comes to the handling and storage of chemicals. Current regulations are designed to ensure the proper management of these substances, minimizing risks to workers and the environment.
The following is a summary of the basic principles governing the storage and handling of chemicals in the workplace.
Access
Access to chemical storage areas must be restricted to trained and authorized employees only. Strict access protocols must be in place to ensure traceability and control the entry and exit of chemicals.
Identification
All chemicals must be clearly identified. Labels must include information on associated risks, precautionary measures, first aid procedures, and more. Safety Data Sheets (SDS) must also be available for each chemical, in accordance with the Globally Harmonized System of Classification and Labeling of Chemicals (GHS).
Handling
Chemicals must be handled by trained personnel, using appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE). Safe handling procedures must be implemented, particularly for transporting, moving and spilling these substances.
Storage
Chemicals must be stored appropriately to minimize the risk of exposure and chemical reaction. This means they must be stored in suitable containers, in well-ventilated and secure areas, away from sources of heat, sparks or flames. Incompatible products must be stored separately to avoid dangerous reactions.
It is important to note that companies are required to comply with all applicable local, national and international regulations. Non-compliance may result in severe penalties, including fines and criminal sanctions.
Ultimately, the key to safe chemical handling and storage lies in proper training, clear safety procedures and regular monitoring to ensure compliance. By putting safety first, companies can protect their employees and the environment while complying with current regulations.
